Check the BOOTSECT.DOS file to see if it exist. Without it you may not boot
right. Also check the BOOT.INI file for any missing statments. The BOOT.INI
should say C:\"MS-DOS" and should reside in the C: drive.
Also you can have only one alt. boot OS. Ethier DOS or OS2. All of the above
is done by NT during the install.
I am not an NT expert. I bought a very good book: "Windows NT Unleashed" by
Robert Cowart. Published by Sams publishing. 201 West 103rd St.,
Indianapolis, IN 46290.
It covers every aspect of NT and was the only book that delt with NT as a
single machine OS. $39.99. I bought it from Software ETC.
I would like to add that NT has become a big issue on the list and that we
should make a NT LW list or join a NT list. I vote to join a NT list because
people on there have experience with NT and can be of more help (same reason
were on this list).
I don't have the address of a NT list, so if anyone out there has one let us
know. If there is more than one then we should all pick one.
This is my last reply or mail on NT on our LW list. Simply because it takes
up LW space and most of us are guessing or have little experience with NT.
Thank you,
